SJC Mom’s Group

The SJC Mom’s Group is a safe space for moms to go to socialize & meet moms like them.

We meet 2x/month from September through May – Join us on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 9:30-11:15am. We coincide with the Wilson Central School District calendar. If school is closed then we are closed.

We had a busy month of outreach in December of 2024. We collected for a personal friend’s daughter: Arlen, 7 years old who just had amputations in early December and is awaiting skin grafting in 2025 due to an illness. Our moms bought treats and crafts not only for Arlen but also her two siblings.

We had a successful cookie exchange with St. John’s ladies for a total of 15 bakers! Our group donated homemade cookies to the Seniors at the Wilson Food Pantry.

Mr. & Mrs. Clause visited the children’s group. It was magical as Mrs. Clause led us in Jingle Bells, Santa came down the stairs. Mrs. Clause read to the children; it was quite like never before! Many of the children talked with Santa on his lap. Everyone got their candy cane and Mrs. Clause made a holiday pin for all the children and helpers. Thank you to Richard & Barbara Miller for the magical moments for the children.

We also purchased and gifted about $230 worth of items for the YWCA Domestic Violence Shelters. The YWCA staff was extremely grateful for the donations, stating they have needed some of the items for a decade!

To wind up our year we gathered at our last meeting before the holidays and made swags with Vicki Jancef from St. John’s. What a great time and learning experience. Many thanks to Vicki for offering her expertise!

The group is looking forward to many more events in 2025 ! Happy New Year !
